Faculty legislation requires that faculty input final grades no later than ten days after the end of the final examination period. Recognizing that students and parents are anxious to view grades and that students often face transcript deadlines for graduate applications, work applications, and semester abroad programs, the Registrar's office strongly urges all faculty to submit grades in a timely manner. Grades may be viewed online using the Garnet Gateway after the ten day grading period*. By selecting the "display grades" option from the "Student Records Information Menu", students may submit a term and view grades, credits and quality points for the term selected, as well as a summary for all terms completed. If a student is on probation or dismissed due to lack of satisfactory progress, this shows in the "academic standing" block. For a complete explanation of Bates system of credits and quality points, please view the degree requirements section of the Bates Catalog. If a grade is missing, it may be because it has not yet been submitted by the faculty member. Students are encouraged to check the web frequently after the ten day period for grade updates. * Please check the end of semester email notice sent by the Registrar 's office which specifies the exact date grades may be viewed. It may vary due to college scheduling and holiday observances. |
