The Office of Career Services typically hosts the Senior Jump Start Program in the beginning of September. This program is designed to give you the tools and resources to make the most of your senior year and to gain some valuable insight into career options. The areas of expertise vary each year included is a list of past sessions. Career Testing (Part I): will provide you with insights into the potential and practical value of the Strong Interest Inventory and Myers Briggs Type Indicator career tests. Grad School Panel: If graduate school is an option for you, this session will help you learn how to identify and select the right programs for you. Luncheon with Keynote Speaker: Science Career Panel: What can you do with your science degree once you leave Bates? This session includes Bates alumni from a variety of industries who talk about what they're doing now, how they got to where they are, and how their major helped them. Communications Career Panel: This interactive panel discussion features successful Bates alumni & employers working in the Communications fields. Non-profit Career Panel: Is an interactive panel discussion featuring successful Bates alumni working in various Non-Profit fields. Finance and Consulting Career Panel: Features successful Bates alumni working in these For-Profit fields. Law Career Panel: If you are considering a career in law, learn more about legal careers and education. Government Career Panel: An interactive panel discussion featuring successful Bates alumni working within state and federal government. Sports Career Panel: There are myriad options available to you, and our alumni panelists will discuss their experiences and offer suggestions on how you can begin to identify and explore these sports-related jobs. Health Professions Career Panel: Get advice from the experts - Bates alums who are currently working in different health fields. |
