All students, faculty, and staff are invited to this presentation and info session about the second annual student-led "alternative" short term exploring the impact of globalization on communities in Maine and Nicaragua. If you are interested in visiting real communities in Maine and Nicaragua to see what they are doing to fight the 'race to the bottom,' exploring alternatives to the current neoliberal economic model, or just want to find out what "neoliberal economic model" means, then we hope to see you there! Members will: Help manage a REAL investment portfolio (REAL MONEY!) to support financial aid at Bates. Learn the principles of financial analysis and valuation. Room G65, Pettengill Hall. The BCIC will be meeting on most Wednesdays this semester to study the principles of financial analysis and valuation.
JUGGLER MORTEN HANSEN COMING TO BATES - Wednesday, March 8, at 8:00 PM in the Mays Center. The Bates Juggling Club and Student Activities Office proudly present: Morten Hansen: winner of four gold medals from the International Jugglers Association and two time world record holder for most balls juggled between two people (15!). Mr. Hansen will be performing "Falling Up Words," a unique blend of juggling, dance, comedy, and drama that will inspire an audience of all ages. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to be mesmerized by the outer limits of human ability in performing arts.
