Evening Information Sessions:  We recommend a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 7 - 8 PM timeslot, in which an employer representative presents an overview of the employer and its opportunities. Audio & visual equipment is available for your convenience. Prior to the information session, an employer's campus visit will be  advertised via email and the Career Services website.

Day Time Information Sessions:  We recommend a weekday, 11 AM - 1 PM timeslot, in which an employer representative is available in an assigned room in the dining commons for students to drop by for informal conversation and questions about  the employer and available opportunities. Audio & visual equipment is available for your convenience. Like an evening information session, an employer's campus visit will be advertised via email and the Career Services website.

Recruiting with Maine Liberal Arts Colleges:  CBB Recruting:  Bates College, Bowdoin College (Brunswick, ME) and Colby College (Waterville, ME) are happy to accommodate any employer wishing to screen candidates from the three schools. We can coordinate information sessions and interviews at one campus location of your choice for all three colleges.  For more information about CBB recruiting, please contact us at (207) 786-6232.

Interview Scheduling:  If you would prefer to pre-screen resumes before conducting on campus interviews, we are able to gather the application materials of candidates well in advance of the  scheduled visit.  Once you have reviewed these materials and selected candidates, we will schedule interviews at your discretion.

A Faculty Guide to Ethical and Legal Standards in Student Hiring

This guide is focused on insuring that faculty conform with the basic legal and ethical guidelines developed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

Feedback:  Your feedback is important to us and our seniors as we guide and counsel them through their job search.  Therefore, we request feedback by way of an informal meeting.  We also would appreciate receiving notification if you offer a Bates candidate a position.

Online Recruiting:  Students are informed of employment opportunities, employer visits and other employer-related activities through e-mail and our website. Feel free to post a job or an internship on our electronic database.

Contact Hillary Verrill, Assistant Director for Employer Relations at 207-786-6398 to schedule your campus visit!

Any institution, corporation, organization, agency or individual applying to use the facilities of the Office of Career Services hereby signifies its willingness to hold at Bates College a public discussion of its policies and practices. Once the petition has been filed with the Director of the Office of Career Services, the corporation, organization, institution or individual named in it shall not recruit, enlist, or interview for employment on the Bates campus until the public discussion has been arranged. No more than one public discussion for a single employer shall be demanded in any academic year.
