Professor Kinsman's research interests are in plant population and community ecology, including: reproductive ecology of tropical and temperate plants; effects of burial on germination; density dynamics in dune annuals; quality of pollination; interspecific pollen transfer; history and discourse of the “interference by foreign pollen” paradigm; forest stand history (with students); mechanisms of population and community change with invasive species; conservation of neotropical forests.
