Bates College and the Office of Career services wants your experience to be rewarding, stimulating, challenging, and exciting.  This page includes some links the OCS finds helpful.  For more detailed and valuable resource information, please visit the Dean of Students office located on the first floor of Lane Hall.

Immigration and visa regulations can be found at the following sites. Most foreign students may work in the U.S. in a Practical Training program on an F-1 visa for 12 months upon graduation. The 12 month time-clock begins ticking as soon as the Immigration Service awards the individual this status, so it makes sense to plan your application and job search strategy carefully.

You will have only one month following graduation to find employment. Practical Training status can take three months to acquire, so begin early.  Here are some helpful links for you to peruse.
