WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Bates College men's lacrosse team remained undefeated (6-0, 2-0 NESCAC) while handling Wesleyan (4-1, 0-1 NESCAC), ranked sixth nationally, its first loss, 13-6, in a game played at West Haven High School on Saturday.

Bates limited Wesleyan, which came into the game averaging over 16 goals a game, to just two goals over the opening 45 minutes en route to a 9-2 edge after three periods of play.

Seven different Bobcat players accounted for the opening seven Bates goals, demonstrating the team's balance offensively.  Bates was very efficient during the contest, scoring on more than half its total shots.

Junior Paul Kazarian had a strong game in goal for Bates with 10 saves while junior Ryan O'Connor anchored the defensive effort in front of Kazarian.

Last year, Bates was the only unranked team to defeat Wesleyan during its 14-4 season.
