The Eleven NEASC Standards for Accreditation / Submit your comments

All institutions undergoing accreditation must clearly demonstrate that they meet each of the NEASC's 11 standards.  The standards establish minimum criteria for academic quality.  In addition to each standard, according to the NEASC "Statement on Institutional Effectiveness", institutions must demonstrate they have adequate processes for evaluation and assessment of effectiveness in fulfilling the institution's mission.

We have added hyperlinks to some standards which point to supporting documentation that already exists on the Bates web. These links are meant for information purposes only and are intended to serve as an aid to navigation. The self-study documents will contain the College's comments on the standards. Links are indicated by underscored text or by a bracketed asterisk [*].

Click to find out more about each standard, or to send a comment.  These comments will go to members of the Accreditation Team at Bates College and to others within the Bates community who have subscribed to the mailing list for the standard.
