Discover Bates for Juniors
Please join us for an informational Open House as you begin your college search.
Discover Bates is an Open House program for high school juniors and their families to learn about Bates. It is an opportunity for students and families to get an early start on the college search. The program includes an Admission & Financial Aid presentation, student and faculty panels, a campus tour and lunch in the Bates Dining Commons.
During the day you will:
- LEARN about what Bates has to offer and what it means to “be a Batesie.”
- ASK questions of staff, faculty and current students to discover if Bates is a great fit for you.
- EXPLORE the Bates community. Attend a panel, have lunch with current students, check out an art exhibit.
- CONNECT with Bates and begin to build a unique relationship with students, faculty, administrators, staff and the Lewiston-Auburn community.
To Register: RSVP by calling the Office of Admission at 855-BATES55 (855-228-3755) OR click here to register online. The registration deadline is January 16, 2013, so be sure to register today!
We recommend you park in the 141 Russell Street parking lot, behind Merrill Gymnasium. Please check-in at Pettengill Hall, Perry Atrium (4 Andrews Road) which is a short walk from this parking lot. There will be students directing you as you walk across campus. Welcome packets including a schedule for the day will be available when you check-in.
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, classes are canceled and special programming will take place throughout the day. You are welcome to attend any of these special events as well. This year’s theme at Bates is “DEBT AND INEQUALITY: THE RELEVANCE OF DR. KING’S FORGOTTEN ECONOMIC MESSAGE.” A schedule of events will be available when you check-in.
