Historian Rebecca Herzig holds the College’s only full-time faculty appointment in Women and Gender Studies. She teaches a range of interdisciplinary courses on science, technology, and medicine, including several cross-listed with American Cultural Studies and African American Studies. Her most recent book is The Nature of Difference: Sciences of Race from Jefferson to Genomics, co-edited with Professor Evelynn Hammonds, Dean of Harvard College. Her current research concerns the history of body care in the United States.

Prof. Herzig is on leave during the academic year 2013 – 2014.
