Class Co-Presidents

Roles and Responsibilities

Class co-presidents are the primary leaders for their class, with specific responsibilities to work with their staff liaison in the Office of College Advancement in developing communications for the class. The responsibilities include keeping the class informed of events and news, keeping the college updated on class activities, writing an annual request for news from classmates, compiling an annual class newsletter, and submitting class notes for publication in Bates Magazine.

Co-presidents provide input to class communications on an as-needed basis, assist Office of College Advancement staff with recruiting class agents, and work closely with class agents to support class fundraising efforts. In the months leading up to Reunion, co-presidents typically lead or play an active role with various aspects of Reunion planning, including recruiting additional Reunion chairs and a strong Reunion committee. Class co-presidents are asked to demonstrate their own commitment to the class gift by making a Bates Fund gift early in the fiscal year.
