Take a tour of the recently renovated Roger Williams and Hedge Halls. The two residence halls have been transformed into state-of-the-art academic buildings. Roger Williams houses language programs and resources including the Off-Campus Study Office, the Language Resource Center and academic programs and Hedge Hall houses philosophy, religious studies and environmental studies. Join Paul Farnsworth, Senior Project Manager and Chris Streifel, Clerk of the Works for Hedge/Roger Williams for a brief introductory tour of both buildings.

Listening Session – Multicultural Voices at Bates
A warm welcome to all students, alumni, staff, and faculty! This is an on-campus opportunity to discuss, connect, and share in the Bates Listening Tour which is traversing the nation and globe. This effort emerged from the desire to strengthen connections among multicultural and international Batesies and all allies who share the vision of a welcoming and equitable multicultural community. The term, multicultural includes typically underrepresented populations, such as African American, Asian American, International, Jewish, Latino, LGBTQ, Native American, persons with disability, and first generation college students. Hosts include Anecia O’Carroll, Director of Multicultural and International Alumni Engagement; James Reese, Associate Dean of Students, and Roland Davis, Director, Office of Intercultural Education and Associate Dean of Students.

Victoria Wyeth ’01 will speak on the artwork of her grandfather, Andrew Wyeth and her uncle, Jamie Wyeth, with a focus on the exhibition on view in the Museum of Art.

This exhibition features drawings and watercolors from the personal collection of Victoria Wyeth ’01, many of which have never before been exhibited. Works include portraits of family members and neighbors who have become well known as models for Andrew Wyeth, Maine and Pennsylvania landscapes, plus sketchbooks and preliminary studies for well-known paintings that provide insights into Andrew Wyeth’s working process. Sponsored by the Phillips Society, Bates’ legacy giving society.
