Colon earned NESCAC Rookie of the Week honors after leading the football team to a 28-7 win over Wesleyan, giving the Bobcats their first win over the Cardinals since 1982.Colon was 18-for-27 through the air, connecting with tight end Luke Vitas for a four-yard touchdown and sneaking in from one yard out for a rushing touchdown of his own.
Bates, now 1-3 on the season, will face Middlebury on the road this weekend.

Gargiulo scored four goals and added an assist to lead the Bates women’s soccer team to a 2-0 week with wins over Swarthmore and NESCAC rival Wesleyan.Gargiulo started the week with a career high five points with two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Swarthmore. She added a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-0 win over Wesleyan. She leads the team with seven goals and 15 points.
Bates, now 8-2-1, 3-2-1, will face Trinity on Wednesday and Middlebury on Saturday.
