Madden made a team-high 12 tackles to lead the defense in the football team’s 21-0 loss to Bowdoin on Saturday. Madden, a senior co-captain, also had a half a tackles for a loss.Madden has started all seven games at linebacker this season. He is third on the team with 46 tackles, he’s broken up three passes and forced two fumbles.
Bates, now 1-6 on the season, wraps up the 2004 schedule this weekend, hosting Hamilton at noon on Saturday.

Zurek had 16 kills and six digs in a 3-0 loss to third-seeded Amherst in the quarterfinal round of the NESCAC Volleyball Championship on Friday night. Zurek finished her career with 1,520 kills and 1,648 digs.Zurek added nine kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 win over St. Joseph’s on Tuesday. Bates finished the season 16-13, posting a winning record for the seventh consecutive season.
