No. 11 Amherst edges No. 12 Bates men in home squash match, 5-4
LEWISTON, Maine — The No. 11 Amherst College men’s squash team won at the Nos. 6 through 9 positions en route to a 5-4 victory over No. 12 Bates College Tuesday at the Bates Squash Center.
Sophomore All-American Ricky Weisskopf (San Salvador, El Salvador) remained undefeated for the season at the No. 1 position, with a straight-set victory over Amherst (3-1) junior Auloke Mathur (Mumbai, India), but the Bobcats fell to 2-3 with their third straight loss.
Bates returns to action with a pair of matches on Jan. 20 at Yale University, against Denison at 5:15 p.m. and vs. the University of Rochester at 7 p.m.
