Bates gains 11th consecutive win over Colby in men’s squash
LEWISTON, Maine — The 13th nationally-ranked Bates College men’s squash team downed No. 18 Colby by a decisive 7-2 score Thursday night at the Bates Squash Center, extending the Bobcats’ winning streak over their in-state rivals to 11 matches.
Bates (7-5) won at positions 1 through 6 — sophomore Ricky Weisskopf (San Salvador, El Salvador), sophomore Sean Wilkinson (London, England), junior Gary Kan (Hong Kong), senior Jamie White (Summit, N.J.), senior Peter Goldsborough (Falmouth, Mass.) and first-year Chip Russell (West Hartford, Conn.) — as well as at the eighth position, with first-year Charlie Johnson (Atlanta, Ga.).
Colby (8-4) senior Nate Stone (Bow, N.H.) won at No. 7, and Mules junior Andy Carr (Conway, N.H.) won at No. 9.
Bates plays host to No. 10 Brown University on Sunday at 11 a.m.
