No. 8 Dartmouth battles to 6-3 win over No. 13 Bates men’s squash
LEWISTON, Maine — The Bates College men’s squash team lost a spirited match by a 6-3 score to Dartmouth College Friday at the Bates Squash Center.
Bates (8-7), ranked 13th nationally by the College Squash Association, received a 3-0 win from sophomore Ricky Weisskopf (San Salvador, El salvador) at the No. 1 position, a 3-1 win from sophomore Sean Wilkinson (London, England) at No. 2, and a 3-1 victory by first-year Marc Taggart (Skippack, Pa.) at No. 7.
The No. 8 Big Green (10-3) garnered two of its wins by 3-2 scores — at No. 4 over senior Jamie White (Summit, N.J.) and at No. 9 over senior Guillermo Moronta (Cambridge, Mass.) — and two more by 3-1 scores.
Bates continues play in the Bates Invitational Saturday, with a match against Tufts University at 11:30 a.m. and another against Northeastern University at 7 p.m.
