|Keelin Godsey ’06
At the State of Maine indoor track and field championships, held Friday at Bates, senior co-captain Keelin Godsey broke his own meet record in the 20-pound weight throw, with a first-place toss of 61 feet and 2 inches. But that wasn’t even what got the seven-time All-American thrower the most excited. In the shot put event that followed, Godsey (Parker, Colo.) threw the shot 45 feet and 11 1/4 inches, and in doing so he met the automatic qualifying mark to compete at the NCAA Division III championships, to be held at St. Olaf College March 10-11. That was a feat that has eluded Godsey in his collegiate career.
