Bates men’s squash beats Bowdoin in NESCAC tourney tuneup
LEWISTON, Maine — A week after squeaking by rival Bowdoin College 5-4, he Bates College men’s squash team enjoyed a more convincing 7-2 victory over the Polar Bears Tuesday night at the Bates Squash Center.
Sophomore and No. 1 player Ricky Weisskopf (San Salvador, El Salvador) defeated Bowdoin junior Matthew Dresher (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in straight sets to raise his individual record to 17-1, and the Bobcats won at positions 3 through 8 to raise their record to 12-7 on the season. Bowdoin dropped to 8-7.
The match was Bates’ final tuneup before the NESCAC Tournament this weekend at Trinity College.
