Women’s tennis team opens with pair of losses to Texas schools
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Bates College women’s tennis team opened its spring season with a swing through Texas, where the Bobcats lost 7-0 against Trinity University on Feb. 21 and 9-1 against Division II University of the Incarnate Word on Feb. 23.
Bates senior Karina Bautista (Quito, Ecuador) notched a point for Bates in sixth singles against UIW, topping Sarah Carswell 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
