Women’s tennis edges MIT, 5-4

The Bates College women’s tennis team defeated MIT 5-4 on Saturday for the first time in head coach Paul Gastonguay’s five years coaching the team.

Scoring points for the Bobcats (3-3) with wins were sophomore Cecilia Grissa (Doylestown, Pa.) at No. 1 singles, senior Liz Currie (Yarmouth, Maine) at second singles, junior Laura Harris (Mercer Island, Wash.) at third singles, Grissa and Harris at first singles, and sophomore Mallika Raghavan (Chappaqua, N.Y.) and sophomore Liz Fleming (Weston, Conn.) at third doubles.
