NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Senior Adam Macbeth (Ellsworth, Maine) earned the 26th indoor track and field All-America honor in Bates College history, and Bates’ first ever in a hurdle event, Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Championships at St. Olaf College.

Having qualified for the finals in the event on Friday, Macbeth merely needed to finish the race on Saturday to earn his first All-America plaque, and he did just that, finishing in seventh place in 7.83 seconds.

The Bates men’s 4×400 relay team finished 10th in 3:22.21. The team included Macbeth, senior Joel Colony (Harrisville, N.H.), junior Matt Capone (Auburn, Maine) and junior Sam Thomas (Richmond, Va.).
