Kazarian named NESCAC Co-Player of the Week in men’s lacrosse

Paul Kazarian ’06

HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College senior Paul Kazarian’s big performance against Amherst College on Saturday earned him Co-Player of the Week honors in men’s lacrosse by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

Kazarian (Providence, R.I.) recorded 20 saves and allowed only six goals in the Bobcats’ win over the ranked Lord Jeffs. The win avenged Bates’ 11-9 loss to Amherst last season.

Kazarian shares the award, the first of his career, with Middlebury College attack Jim Cabrera.

Bates is off to a 2-0 start, while Kazarian has made 32 saves and allowed 16 goals.

The Bobcats play host to New England College Tuesday at 7 p.m., followed by a game against Mt. Ida College Wednesday at 4 p.m. Both games will be at Campus Avenue Field.
