Coffin named to NEWBA All-New England First Team

LEWISTON, Maine — Bates College junior center Meg Coffin received First Team All-New England honors Friday from the New England Women’s Basketball Association.
It’s the fifth postseason honor thus far for Coffin (Westford, Mass.), who had previously been named NESCAC Player of the Year; First Team All-NESCAC; Northeast Region First Team by D3Hoops.com; and First Team All-State by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Coffin (Westford, Mass.), a 6-1 center, led the Bobcats in scoring (17.1), rebounding (11.0), blocked shots (1.6 bpg) and steals (2.3 spg), and was at the top or near the top of the NESCAC in all of those categories. Coffin also set a new school record for field goal percentage, at .592, topping Olivia Zurek’s mark of .582 from 2002-03.
The co-captain is also a two-time All-NESCAC and a second-team All-American soccer player.
