Bobcats of the week of March 20, 2006
|Matt Erisman ’07
Matt Erisman produced one of several outstanding performances on the Bates men’s lacrosse team in the Bobcats’ amazing comeback victory over Trinity College on Saturday. The Bobcats were behind the Bantams 10-5 with under six minutes remaining in regulation, but the junior attack from Nantucket, Mass., tallied three of his four goals in a span of 4 minutes, 20 seconds to make the score 10-8 with 1:03 on the clock. Bates would get two more goals in the final 37 seconds, one from sophomore Brent Morin (Hanover, N.H.) and another from sophomore Craig Blake (Ballston Lake, N.Y.), to tie the game, and Morin’s goal less than two minutes into overtime earned Bates the stunning win.
Erisman also had a goal and an assist in Bates’ win over Mount Ida, and followed that with a goal and three assists in a win over New England College last week. He leads the Bobcats (5-0) in goals (11) and points (17).
