The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference has named Bates College center Meg Coffin a 2006 ECAC First Team All-Star, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Coffin is the only woman from a New England Small College Athletic Conference school to make the First Team. Bowdoin’s Justine Pouravelis and Eileen Flaherty made the Second Team, along with Wesleyan’s Hannah Stubbs.

Coffin led the Bobcats (19-9) in scoring (17.1), rebounding (11.0), blocked shots (1.6 bpg) and steals (2.3 spg), and was at the top or near the top of the NESCAC in all of those categories. Coffin also set a new school record for field goal percentage, at .592, topping Olivia Zurek’s mark of .582 from 2002-03.

The ECAC award is the eighth postseason basketball honor for Coffin, who also earned a slew of postseason soccer awards as a defender, including NSCAA Second Team All-America.

In basketball, the junior from Westford, Mass., had previously been named NESCAC Player of the Year; WBCA/Kodak Honorable Mention All-America; D3Hoops.com Fourth Team All-America; First Team All-NESCAC; D3Hoops.com Northeast Region First Team; First Team All-New England by the New England Women’s Basketball Association; and First Team All-State by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
