Erisman nabs NESCAC Player of the Week honors in men’s lacrosse

HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College junior Matt Erisman was named Player of the Week in men’s lacrosse by the New England Small College Athletic Conference, the NESCAC announced Monday.

Erisman, an attack from Nantucket, Mass., scored four times and added two assists in the Bobcats’ 9-7 win at Colby College last Wednesday. He scored Bates’ first goal, beginning the team’s comeback from an early 4-0 deficit, then scored three straight goals in the second half as the Bobcats pulled away from a 5-5 halftime tie, and raised their record to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

Erisman leads the Bobcats, and is fifth in the NESCAC, in points per game, at 3.11. He is 10th in the league in goals per game (1.67) and seventh in assists per game (1.44).

The Bobcats’ next game is at Connecticut College Saturday at 2 p.m.
