Trinity comes back to defeat women’s lacrosse team, 13-11
HARTFORD, Conn. — The Bates College women’s lacrosse team lost second-half leads of 8-6, 10-8 and 11-10 as Trinity College defeated the Bobcats 13-11 Tuesday at Robin L. Sheppard Field.
Trinity junior Lauren Malinowski scored three second-half goals to lead the Bantams (5-6, 2-4 NESCAC), who earned their first win in five games. Emily Allen netted the decisive 12th goal for Trinity with 3:20 left on the clock.
Senior Shannon Tully (Needham, Mass.) and sophomore Molly Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored three goals apiece for the Bobcats (4-5, 0-5 NESCAC), who dropped their fourth straight game. Wagner also had an assist. Junior Meg Coffin (Westford, Mass.) and first-year Caroline Thomas (Barrington, R.I.) added two apiece, and junior Katherine Farmer (Madison, Conn.) had a goal with one assist.
Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Nickerson (Lincoln, N.H.) registered four saves for Bates; Michelle Smith had 14 saves for Trinity.
Bates hosts Williams College in a NESCAC matchup Saturday at 1 p.m.
