Miley in third place in decathlon at New England Div. III championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — With five of 10 events completed, Bates College sophomore John Miley (Hanson, Mass.) sits in third place in the decathlon at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships in men’s track and field at Springfield College.
Miley high jumped 6 feet, 2 3/4 inches, putting him seventh on Bates’ all-time list, and has 3,127 points after Day 1 of the meet.
Bates junior Andrew Tibbetts (Dedham, Mass.) is in seventh place in the decathlon with 2,755 points.
The meet begins in earnest on Friday.
