Mahoney, a sophomore shortstop from Sudbury, Mass., batted 13-for-22 (.591) during Bates’ 3-3 past week, with a home run, six doubles, three walks, six runs scored, and eight RBIs.In back-to-back wins over Colby and Williams, Mahoney was a combined 7-for-7 at the plate with three runs and six RBIs.
Along the way, he broke the previous school record for hits in a season (43), finishing the season with 48.
Mahoney finished the season with a .372 batting average, tops on the team for players with more than five at-bats, and was second on the team in runs (23) and runs batted in (23).

Bates senior Keelin Godsey continues to set records almost every week he participates.Last weekend the venue was the Division III New England Track & Field Championships at Springfield College, where Godsey led the Bobcats to second place out of 28 teams, the highest finish in school history.
Godsey set the meet record in both the hammer throw (204 feet, 5 inches) and the discus throw (151-8). He also took first place in the shot put with a career-best 47 feet, 5 inches, meeting the automatic qualification standard for the NCAA Division III Championships later this month.
