INDIANAPOLIS — Bates College seniors Will Boe-Wiegaard and Tristan Beach will represent the Bobcats at the 2006 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships.

Boe-Wiegaard (Georgetown, Conn.), a three-time All-America and national finalist in 2005, earned one of 32 spots to compete for the singles championship. He has assembled a 21-6 record this year playing as Bates’ No. 1 singles player.

Beach (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Boe-Wiegaard, Bates’ No. 1 doubles team, qualified as one of 16 pairs to compete in the doubles championship. Beach and Boe-Wiegaard were 19-7 this year in doubles matches.

The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on won-lost record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes.

The team championship will be held May 17-19, and the singles and doubles championships will be held May 20-22, at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.

On Tuesday, Beach and Boe-Wiegaard were each named First Team All-NESCAC players in doubles, while Boe-Wiegaard was named First Team All-NESCAC in singles for the fourth time in his career.
