Bates’ Megan Germscheid honored as scholar-athlete rower

LEWISTON, Maine — Bates College senior rower Megan Germscheid has been named a Division II/III National Scholar-Athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
Germscheid is a biological chemistry major from Little Falls, Minn.
The CRCA’s required criteria for the award are that the student-athlete must have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher for her career (through fall semester/quarter for the current competition year); must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution; must be in her second, third, or fourth year of eligibility; and must have rowed in her institution’s varsity boat for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races.
