LEWISTON, Maine — Two Bates College women’s track and field athletes will compete this week at the 2006 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., after the fields were released on Sunday.
The Bates women’s team will be represented by senior Keelin Godsey in the hammer throw, shot put and discus throw, with a chance to add to a resume that already includes 13 All-America honors, a national championship and a Division III record (the latter two in the hammer throw in 2005).
Junior Kathryn Moore (Pelham, N.H.) will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Moore was 10th at nationals in 2005 in the event.
On the men’s side, senior Joel Colony (Harrisville, N.H.) was selected to compete in the 400-meter dash. However, Colony has opted not to go the meet in order to attend the Phi Beta Kappa Induction at Bates on Friday.
