Godsey comes in fourth in discus throw at NCAA Championships

LISLE, Ill. — Bates College senior Keelin Godsey’s athletic resume is up to 14 All-America honors. Godsey placed fourth Thursday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Benedictine University, with a top throw of 144 feet, 7 inches.

Godsey, who was named Women’s Field Athlete of the Year in the New England Region for the second straight year yesterday, was topped only by Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s Robyn Jarocki (158-2), Widener’s Lauren Lucci (152-8) and Loras’s Ellen Thys (146-9).

Godsey will compete tomorrow afternoon in his best event, the hammer throw, with the shot put to follow on Saturday.

Bates junior Kathryn Moore (Pelham, N.H.) will compete in the 3,00-meter steeplechase Friday evening.
