HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College senior forward Ithai Schori has been named the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Schori (New York, N.Y.) had a hand in both of Bates’ sudden-death overtime goals last week. The right wing scored the game-winner just 19 seconds into overtime in a 2-1 win over UMaine-Farmington on Wednesday. Then he delivered the assist in Bates’ 1-0 double-overtime win over Connecticut College on Saturday with a laser of a cross from the right sideline to sophomore Greg Nelson (Greenwich, Conn.) in front of the Camels’ net.
Schori, also a midfielder on the Bates men’s lacrosse team, becomes Bates’ first NESCAC Player of the Week in any sport this season, and the first men’s soccer Player of the Week since Brent Morin ’08 (Hanover, N.H.) earned the honor on Oct. 24, 2005.
