Golf team women win decisively at Bowdoin

BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Bates College golf team’s women players won decisively over Bowdoin in a dual match held at Brunswick Golf Course on Monday.

The Bobcats totaled a three-player score of 130 over 27 holes, compared to Bowdoin’s 157.

Playing in the first spot for Bates was first-year Whitney Roller (Haverford, Pa.), who fired a 38 and was medalist for the match, 14 strokes better than her Polar Bear counterpart. Sophomore Katherine O’Connor (Loudenville, N.Y.) carded a 42, 10 strokes below her counterpart, and sophomore Elizabeth Wilcox (South Glastonbury, Conn.) shot a 50 three strokes better than Bowdoin’s No. 3 player.
