LEWISTON, Maine — Bates first-year Zach Fenno (Armonk, N.Y.) won the final match in the D Singles Flight with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Bowdoin’s Andrew McDonald, highlighting the host Bobcats’ final day of the Wallach Men’s Tennis Invitational.

Colby College’s Brian Brown won the A Singles Flight and Bowdoin College won three other flights at the Wallach Men’s Tennis Invitational.

Winning the A Doubles Flight was the Bowdoin College pair of Sam Bitetti and Alex White, who defeated Bates’ Greg Little (Hampton, N.H.) and first-year Max Berger (Concord, N.H.) by an 8-4 score in the final. Little and Berger defeated their teammates, first-year Amrit Rupasinghe and sophomore Ben Stein, 8-2 in the semifinals. In the B Doubles Flight, Middlebury’s Chris Mason and Peter Odell defeated Bates’ Mike Sherman and Adam Nielson 8-4 in the final, right after they got past Bates’ Jon Rosenberg (Scarsdale, N.Y.) and junior Danilo Acosta (Quito, Ecuador) 8-4 in the semifinal.

Colby College’s Brian Brown came away as champion of the A Singles Flight, defeating Bowdoin’s Alex Caughron 6-4, 6-3 in the final. Caughron had ousted Rupasinghe (Colombo, Sri Lanka) in the semifinals, 6-3, 7-6 (8).

Middlebury’s Chris Mason defeated Amherst’s Jeff Lawrence in the final of the B Singles Flight.

Bowdoin’s Adam Davis won the C Singles Flight, taking down his Polar Bear teammate Tyler Anderson by a 6-2, 6-1 score. Davis defeated Acosta 6-0, 6-1 in the semifinals of the flight.

Bowdoin’s McDonald defeated Bates Rosenberg 7-6 (4), 6-3 in the semifinals of the D Flight Singles before losing to Fenno in the final.
