HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College senior Steve Monsulick was named to the All-NESCAC Second Team in men’s cross country on Tuesday, based on his 11th-place finish at the NESCAC Championship last Saturday.

Monsulick (Kents Hill, Maine) led the Bobcats over the extremely windy and wet oceanside 8K course at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Conn., with a time of 26:47.

The Bobcats finished ninth out of with 172 points, getting nipped by Tufts by a single point and finishing a mere 28 points from third place Amherst (144). Williams won the team title with 30 points.

Bates has placed at least one man on the All-NESCAC Cross Country team for three straight years. Dan Johnson ’06 made the First Team in 2005 and Second Team in 2004, while Joel Anderson ’05 also made the Second Team in 2004.
