Bates’ Moore qualifies for NCAA Cross Country Championships

LEWISTON, Maine — Bates senior Kathryn Moore officially qualified to compete at the Division III Women’s Cross Country Championships this weekend, as the field was announced Monday by the NCAA.
This will be the first trip to nationals for Moore (Pelham, N.Y.), who earned All-America honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase last spring.
She is one of 56 runners to make the field with an at-large bid, after finishing 19th overall at the Division III New England Region qualifer on Saturday.
Moore is the first Bates female to qualify for nationals since Katherine Creswell ’05 did it in 2003.
Hosted by Wilmington College, the race will be held this Saturday, Nov. 18, at 12 p.m. at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio.
