No. 13 Bates men’s squash defeated at powerhouse Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. — The No. 1 nationally ranked Trinity College men’s squash team extended the longest active intercollegiate winning streak to 150 consecutive matches with a 9-0 win over No. 13 Bates Friday night at the Kellner Center.

Senior Shaun Johnstone (Harare, Zimbabwe) played dominantly against Bates junior and two-time All-American Ricky Weisskopf (San Salvador, El Salvador), handing Weisskopf his first loss this season at the No. 1 position. All nine Bantams posted 3-0 victories.

Trinity improves to 6-0 this season, while Bates drops to 2-3. 

The Bobcats play in a round robin at Yale University tomorrow, and have matches scheduled against Cornell, Hobart and the University of Southern California.
