Bates divers shine at Colby dual meet

WATERVILLE, Maine — Divers took center stage for the Bates College swimming and diving teams in a dual meet Saturday at Colby College.
Sophomore two-time All-American Kelsey Lamdin (Brunswick, Maine) set the women’s Colby pool record with 252.30 points in the 3-meter diving event, eclipsing the nine-year-old mark by 12.30 points. Lamdin also finished first in the women’s 1-meter diving, with 219.95 points.
The Bates women’s team lost by a 180-106 score, while the Bates men lost by a 184-82 score.
Bates junior men’s team co-captain Dan Perry (Exeter, N.H.) captured first place in the 1-meter diving, with 215.05 points.
Other event winners for Bates included junior Annie Barton (Holladay, Utah), who touched first in the 100-yard freestyle race in 56.78 seconds, 0.03 seconds ahead of Colby’s Courtney Chilcote.
Bates will compete at Tufts University next Saturday, Jan. 27.
