Moore blazes in 5,000 meters at BU’s Terrier Classic

BOSTON – Bates senior Kathryn Moore (Pelham, N.H.) finished first in her heat in the 5,000-meter race Friday at the Boston University Terrier Classic and qualified provisionally to compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Running in the second fastest of three heats in the event, which drew top athletes from all divisions and around the country to BU’s Track and Tennis Center, Moore ran a time of 17:27.28, the second fastest in Bates history.
Moore’s Bates teammates will compete at the USM Coed Invitational Saturday in Gorham, Maine.
