Women’s squash tops Bowdoin for third place at NESCACs

HARTFORD, Conn. — Bates College claimed third place in the first annual NESCAC Squash Championship on Sunday, defeating rival Bowdoin College 6-3.
The No. 10 nationally ranked Bobcats defeated Colby 8-1 in the quarterfinals of the tournament on Saturday at Trinity College. The Bobcats, seeded third, then fell to No. 2 seed Williams in the semifinal round later in the day.
Bates (15-7) dominated Colby, particularly at positions 5 through 9, where the Bobcats allowed only 10 total points.
The Bates women’s next match is Feb. 11 at Amherst.
