Women’s squash to play Cornell for Kurtz Cup
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Bates College women’s squash team routed 11th-seeded Bowdoin College 8-1 on Saturday, setting up a showdown with Cornell University for the Kurtz Cup.
Bates (19-7), seeded 10th at the College Squash Association Team Nationals, will play the ninth-seeded Big Red on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. for its fourth consecutive Kurtz Cup, which goes to the champion of the bracket for seeds 9 through 16.
Bates has defeated Cornell in the Kurtz Cup finals both of the past two seasons, including last year, when Bates was also seeded 10th and Cornell was ninth. Earlier this season on Jan. 13, Cornell edged Bates 5-4.
