BOSTON — Bates sophomore Izzy Alexander broke her own school record in the 500-meter race on Friday at the all-division Open New England Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at Boston University.
In the preliminary heats of the event Alexander ran a time of 1:17.05, eclipsing the school mark she set last year of 1:19.09. Alexander qualified for Saturday’s 500-meter final, one of 10 runners to do so.
