Men’s squash downs Rochester; will play Navy in Hoehn semis
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Bates College men’s squash team defeated the University of Rochester 8-1 Friday in the opening round of play at the College Squash Association Team Nationals.
The No. 9 seed Bobcats (20-6) set a new Bates squash record for wins in a season, and now advance to the semifinals of the Hoehn (B) Division, where they’ll face No. 12 seed Navy Saturday at 12 p.m. at Choate Rosemary Hall. Navy defeated Brown 8-1 in their quarterfinal matchup; Cornell and Amherst will compete in the other Hoehn Division semifinal.
Bates defeated Navy 5-4 at Yale on Jan. 27 for their third victory in a row over the Midshipmen.
