Bates men’s squash finishes season with No. 12 national ranking

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Bates College men’s squash team earned a final College Squash Association ranking of No. 12 on Sunday, after falling to Amherst College 5-4 in the 11-12 match of the CSA Team Nationals at Yale University.

Bates won at the top four positions, but also suffered from the loss of first-year Jordan Greenberg (Malvern, Pa.), the Bobcats’ No. 5 player, to an injury suffered against Navy on Saturday.

Some members of the Bobcats (20-8) will go on to play at the CSA Individual Nationals next weekend at the University of Pennsylvania.

Bates set a program record for victories in a season.

Juniors Ricky Weisskopf (San Salvador, El Salvador) and Sean Wilkinson (London, England) earned Bates’ two points from the top two positions. against Navy. Wilkinson was the lone Bobcat to go 3-0 for the weekend from the No. 2 spot.
