Saniuk named NESCAC Softball Player of the Week

HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College sophomore Stacia Saniuk has been named the NESCAC Softball Player of the Week, the conference announed on Monday.
Saniuk (Sharon, Mass.), who earned NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors last season, opened the 2007 season last week by hitting 8-for-20 (.400) at the plate with seven RBIs, three runs scored, two doubles and one home run, for a slugging percentage of .650 as the Bobcats went 2-4 at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.
In Bates’ 7-6 win over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday, Saniuk clubbed a three-run home run in the fourth inning, then doubled to drive in the winning run in the sixth.
