Griffin Finan ’07 Bates senior co-captain and Griffin Finan(Bethesda, Md.) went the distance for the Bobcats’ 3-1 win over Elms College last Thursday in Port Charlotte, Fla.In seven innings of work, the righthander allowed the Blazers just one unearned run on six hits and one walk while striking out four.
Finan set a Bates record as a sophomore in 2005 for fewest walks allowed for a pitcher with at least 1.0 innings pitched per game, when he handed out only eight free passes in 44 innings. |

Molly Wagner ’08 Junior midfielder Molly Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass.) totaled six points in the Bates women’s lacrosse team’s 1-2 week last week, along with 10 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.Wagner’s goal midway through the first period on Saturday against nationally ranked Amherst tied the game at 2-2, and it was the 100th of her college career.
Wagner, a two-time All-NESCAC selection, currently leads the Bobcats in goals (19), points (23), ground balls (18) and caused turnovers (12). |
