LEWISTON, Maine — Bates College senior attackman Matt Erisman has been selected to play in the 2007 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South Classic, in Baltimore, Md., on May 25.
It is believed to be the first time a Bates player will participate in the North-South game. A year ago, B.J. Majeski ’06 was selected as an alternate to play in the game but did not attend.
Erisman (Nantucket, Mass.) led the Bobcats this season in points (33) and assists (14), and was second on the team in goals (19). He ranked second in the NESCAC in points per game (3.00), ninth in goals per game (1.73) and fifth in assists per game (1.27). Among his best games this season were a six-assist outburst in a 9-8 win over Bowdoin on April 25, and a four-goal performance against Williams on March 31. Erisman was an All-NESCAC Second Team selection in 2006, after leading the Bobcats in scoring with 34 points.
The North-South Classic takes place at Calvert Hall School in Baltimore. The Division III game starts at 4 p.m. and the Division I-II Game begins at 5:45.
